Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Zehara Nachash draws deeply from her life-long practice and study of shamanism, occult, witchcraft, mysticism, Voodoo and Ceremonial Magick. Her artwork and jewelry are an embodiment of her continued journey into the occult and magick. Zehara is a former member and student of Temple Harakhte and Ar nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship. In 2004 Zehara was initiated into the Temple of the Seekers, a Ceremonial Magick group formerly in Boston, MA of which she was a member for nearly 10 years. It was there that she was initiated with her name, Zehara Nachash which means “Bright Serpent” in Hebrew. This spiritual name personifies her work of over 18 years with her snakes. Additionally, Zehara has taught multiple workshops on serpentine magick, awakening the Divine Feminine, enhancing intuition, spirit communication as well as comprehensive fully immersed ecstatic dance and trance workshops. After several dreams of a giant white serpent Zehara enveloped herself in Voodoo studies and is a servant of Papa Damballah. A gifted dancer, Zehara taught and performed Belly Dance for 14 years. Termed “Boston’s Resident Snake Charmer” by the Boston Globe, Zehara and her serpentine partners performed at various public and private events throughout New England and were featured in music videos, commercials and even opened for the Counting Crows! In 2013, Zehara founded PRIMAL WORLD DANCE- which infuses African, Middle Eastern and Aboriginal movement to create a cathartic and meditative dance experience. Additionally, her love of dance and her deep spirituality, allowed her to create “ANIMUS: A SHAMANIC JOURNEY THROUGH DANCE” with performances in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in Cambridge, MA and featured dancers from across New England. In 2015 Zehara became a certified Reiki Master. She has also written several articles on dance as magick, which have been featured in pagan magazines in both the United States and Europe. Zehara currently lives in Arizona and is inspired by her three beautiful pythons Kyphi, Kira and Simbi. She is currently in the process of writing her first book on Serpentine Myth and Magick and hopes to have it finished and published by 2018!
